Subliminal Advertising

Needed to show everyone this video, it's pretty insane stuff about the power of Subliminal Advertising in regards to testing it on advertising/media/marketing people.  The ending is amazing.  XD

Current Projects

Neko Nation
Currently working on the majority of the Australian wide tour for Neko Nation.  It's a bit dull at the moment, there's a lot of dealing with venues and just trying to get a gig sorted, it's so much harder juggling multiple events now, especially out of the state!

The tour is looking to be quite exciting once dates have been organised and fliers and postes are released online and in person.  We've got a lot of interest in applications from all over the place, (except from Sydney which we've sadly had to cancel, X.x).  The fans I have been able to talk to over the staff search has been awesome and I'm very excited not just to have awesome people working at the event, just the ability to meet lots of people who are awesome to talk to and would love to get involved in Neko Nation.

Overall an insane number of events are planned throughout the rest of the year, not just the regular Neko Nation events that have been put on as well.  It's a bit hard to keep my feet grounded and not run away with some of the uber exciting things I want to do and get planned though!  Plus I'm spending a lot of time settling into Adelaide and working on Tokyo Hardcore

Tokyo Hardcore
My newest project, I've joined up as a partner, investor, business advisor and accountant, my wonderful girlfriend Saccharine is taking the reigns and leading the vision for Tokyo Hardcore.

It's been an exciting ride, I've had a fair bit to learn about lolita and Japanese fashion and it's been one amazing ride which has taken me right to the all the stores, designers and owners in Japan.  It's been one hell of an experience and while there are some downs and tough parts about running any business, things such as trips to Japan does make it worth it.

My work is quite interesting, very technical and a lot of icky behind the scenes stuff.  My job has been to do all the legal, systems, accounting and advisory roles for the business, the stuff that people find insanely dull and absolutely hate when running a business but the stuff I live for and am qualified in.  It's a bit tricky since there's lot of new things to learn and things never ever go to plan, while running to very tough deadlines and budgets but I'm very excited about the first launch at AV-Con.

Also might be working on a new young entrepreneurs project with a very experienced entrepreneur who has run his own business' for decades, so this could be a very exciting thing to work on, more on this soon.  ^^

In 2011

Expect a few posts like this, where I bitch about businesses who are doing things very wrong.

As an event promoter for Neko Nation, I need to search and consider venues for my event, to make everyone's lives easier you would think contact details for venues would be easy, for one venue this was not the case and I had no choice to turn down a good venue for not even having any easy to find contact details.

In 2011, if you run a business such as a nightclub to the 18-25 market, not having a Facebook page is a marketing disaster and a half.  Not having a website or even contact details pop up when I typed in Google is just tragic.

To make matter worse, they at least had a Myspace page.....

I know not every single club owner isn't a marketing expert but to not even get past this hurdle astounds me in 2011.  o.0

Introduction and Warning

Want to run and lead your own independent life, here`s an idea of what you have to go through!

Anyways, my name is Craig and I run Hairlucination, Neko Nation and Tokyo Hardcore.  While people think running all these businesses is impressive enough by itself, I`m also juggling full time study and maintaining and can work up to three different jobs a week too.  To say I`m busy is an understatement! However the reality is I love the lifestyle I lead, even if there are downs the ups definitely more than make up for it.

This blog is made so I can share what I`m doing and also inspire other people to go ahead and create their own entrepreneurial adventure.  However I should warn you that if the amount of work and effort I put into my life as I have mentioned in the previous paragraph scares you, then get a job, get a good wage or salary and don`t try to run your own business, it`s not that easy and takes a lot to do it well.  However those who know me personally know that I live and lead a very exciting life in the process.  Sometimes I`m pulling all nighters completing assignments and dread orders, other times I`m hanging out with famous people and partying hard, it`s a non-stop crazy life filled with adventures.

Personally it takes a lot of hard work, to push through physical and emotional boundaries but there`s been some amazing results though in the end.  I`ve managed to create Hairlucination in 2009 and had some fun taking that around Australia.  Had some great success with it but it`s been a bit on and off as a side project as my other businesses have really taken headway, although we have been involved in Australia`s Got Talent this year which was pretty cool.

Neko Nation is the one I`m most well known for, the anime club night which originally started out as a small side project in my uni break which takes up most of my time depending on my uni schedule, it`s been a blast, met my lovely girlfriend who I got engaged to last month who joined me and took the event to Adelaide which was an absolutely mind blowing event.  It`s a bit crazy the amount of work that goes into an event, since it takes up to three weeks just to make the 6 hour event work!  It`s completely worth it though and I have so much fun doing, only thing more fun is actually partying at the event itself!

Next project is Tokyo Hardcore, a Japanese fashion store which should be opening up within the next few months.  It`s by far one of the most interesting projects I`ve been involved in and by far the biggest.  It`s involved going to Japan and actually personally meeting the designers and creating a business unheard of in Australia.  It`s a bit scary at how overwhelming this business and how new a lot of things are to me but I`m having a blast making it happen and I so can`t wait for the doors to open!

That`s pretty much a bit of history on the stuff I`m doing and will be updating on in here plus bits of advice and awesome stories here and there.  Will update more soon!

First Post

Creation of my second blog, this is my more business based blog, which will have updates on my businesses, Neko Nation, Tokyo Hardcore and other projects I might be involved.  It will feature various advice and methods I`ve used in terms of my experience and knowledge which I feel may be of help to others.  At the same time also expect updates about all my crazy adventures that get involved with the stuff I get up too as well including pics!
